WOOT@USENIX 2020: Marcel Busch, Johannes Westphal, and Tilo Müller Receive Best Student Paper Award
During the 14th USENIX Workshop on Offensive Technologies (WOOT 2020), co-located with the 29th USENIX Security Symposium (USENIX Security 2020), Marcel Busch, Johannes Westphal, and Tilo Müller received the best student paper award for their work titled “Unearthing the TrustedCore: A Critical Review on Huawei’s Trusted Execution Environment”. Their research reveals and discusses critical as well as exploitable flaws in a widely-used Trusted Execution Environment implementation. All vulnerabilities have been responsibly disclosed to the vendor and are fixed by recent updates, according to the vendor.
